THE VINEYARDS

These vineyard sites encompass what I believe to be among the most distinctive terroirs of the Sonoma Coast. I focus on the west, or “true,” Sonoma Coast and the far western portion of the Russian River AVA. These cooler growing regions produce Pinot Noir with a unique combination of depth in fruit, lush tannins, and minerality. I’ve worked with some of these vineyards for more than a decade; others I’ve only dreamed about working with until now.

There is an industry saying that “It takes great beer to make great wine,” a nod to the winemaker's penchant for a cold beer after a long harvest day. It is no less accurate that it takes great farmers to grow great grapes. Not only great in their skill, but great people who care about their land, community, and preserving our way of life. These are the people I choose to work with.

In some instances, my agreements allow me to mention the vineyards that I source from by name; in some cases, I cannot, as they don’t publicly sell fruit from their estates. Vineyard information and details can be found here.
